Cornering the market on great food and fun
Palmyra Area Chamber of Commerce President Heidi Deuster (left) congratulates Jennifer Gutierrez (center) and Lori Hale (right) on being selected as the Chamber’s “Shining Star” business for the month of October 2017.
With more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Lori Hale was looking for a bigger and better venue for her talents. She found it in Palmyra when she purchased the Cornerstone Restaurant and Bowl in 2015. After some remodeling, she opened for business on Friday, February 13, 2015. Because of this opening date, many of her friends and family call her “Lucky Lori”.
Today the Cornerstone offers a complete menu and daily specials from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Mondays through Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The Cornerstone also has a large lounge where friends gather to watch sports or just enjoy each other’s company.
The Cornerstone has developed a reputation for having one of the area’s best Friday Night Fish Fry, with guests coming from the Milwaukee area, northern Illinois and, of course, Palmyra and the surrounding area. Reservations are always a good idea and can be made by calling (262) 485-4455.
In addition to restaurant dining, the Cornerstone does a brisk take out business and has a special menu that features many of their regular menu items. There’s even a special dining and take out menu for the “Lil Folks”.
From appetizers, salads, wraps, pizza plus al the traditional fine dining menu items, the Cornerstone can satisfy every customer’s desire.
Another unique feature of the Cornerstone is the vintage bowling lane in the lower level. Built over 100 years ago, the four lanes feature manual scoring in a quaint atmosphere. On Sunday, October 29th the Cornerstone Lanes will be one of four vintage alleys on a special tour organized by the Bowling Centers Association of Wisconsin. If you would like more information, please call the association at (262) 783-4292. Only 35 spots are available, so call soon.
